Rochelle L. Stern is a freelance writer and editor. She received her B.A in journalism from Douglass College, Rutgers University.Ms. Stern was diagnosed with insulin-dependent diabetes in 1997 at the age of 32. Her young daughter's inquiries regarding the diabetes aspect of her mom's lifestyle initially inspired her to write the book, Can Mom Have a Piece of my Birthday Cake? Ms. Stern published the book to fill a gap in the diabetes book market.Ms. Stern lives in Princeton Junction, New Jersey, with her husband and two children. She believes that family support is key in managing one's diabetes, and hopes her book offers a means to this effort.Ms. Stern is available to read her book to elementary school students ages four through ten. |
